Cajun and Zydeco Band from Boston MA
The Boogaloo Swamis, a Cajun and Zydeco band, was first formed in 1983, Leader, Mickey Bones said it was the strong friendship between him and the guitar player that kept things going.
"He’s nice as pie, and I’m a little more sourpuss," said Bones with a laugh.
The Boogaloo Swamis combine their rhythmic Cajun and Zydeco music with rockabilly, Tex Mex, blues and original tunes. The band is four-time winners of Boston Music Awards' Outstanding World Music Act. Bones said the band has between 80 and 100 songs, most of them covers, and after so many years, a set list isn’t needed.
